A Unique Night-time Charity Bike Ride
While the rest of the city sleeps, NightRider participants will cycle the streets, and raise money for their favourite charity.
About
NightRider Toronto is a unique cycling challenge and fundraising event, which will take place on the streets of Toronto.
NightRider is not a race, so it is not a timed event.....but it is a big challenge which is not only a rewarding experience for the participant to complete, but also for the charities that receive sponsorship funds.
The NightRider Toronto route is 100km - but participants can finish at the 25K, 50K or 75K Rest Locations.
There will be checkpoints every 3-5kms, where riders will be able to see and experience many buildings, landmarks and unique parts of the city at night.
Participants can meet friends and family at the Rest Locations where there will be a place to sit and relax; toilets; water and snacks; first aid; a bike mechanic; and entertainment at selected locations.
The participants will leave the start line in waves of 50-75 riders every 5-8 minutes, on Saturday night at 11.30pm. The event officially finishes on Sunday at 10am.
Participants ride on city streets, and must abide by the rules of the road. The route will be well marked with road signage, and there will be marshals at key locations. A downloadable GPS route will be provided for all participants to use on their smart-phones.
Participants will be provided with a high visibility, reflective vest that must be worn at all times on the route. All riders will be required to ensure that they have properly functioning bicycles with front and rear riding lights. Helmets must be worn at all times.
A limited number of rental bicycles will be available, and must be pre-booked.
NightRider Toronto takes place rain or shine.
